christmas

we are having a wonderful time in albuquerque visiting family and friends. we are less than a week into the trip and i have taken over 600 pictures so far. as you'll recall, i was disappointed that i only took 3 pictures the last time i was here. i think i'll have to find a middle ground :). i've posted 3 of our 4 christmases in slide shows (thanksmas was posted earlier) to save room on our blog. i hope they convey how much fun we've had with our families. we have so much to be thankful for during this holiday season, not just gifts, but family, friends, love, laughter, memories past and those being made now, time to rest, good food to eat, shelter from the cold, time to talk, stories to hear, and so much more. we hope all of you are having a wonderful holiday season and that you find peace, renewal, and joy in the new year!

welcome james patrick walford

my little sister, sarah, gave birth to our newest nephew, james patrick walford, the day before thanksgiving, so we had an extra little blessing to be thankful for this year. these are some pictures of him when he's nice and fresh and then with the girls and i. the extra blonde girl who looks like she could belong to us is our neice hannah, the proud big sister. welcome little james!

thanksmas

we continued our tradition of celebrating thanksmas with my dad in denver this past weekend. we had 25 family members in town, including my grandma and papa who we haven't seen for 2 years. having all 5 generations in one house for the weekend made for a great and very memorable experience.

thanksgiving weekend

nyc was getting crowded (even more than usual) with everyone coming in to enjoy the festivities that kick off to the holiday season, so we decided to get away. we rented a beach house in long beach that was just off the water. we had a nice relaxing holiday spent cooking, playing games, doing crafts, sleeping, watching hard core surfers in the freezing water, and resting.

the end of soccer season

the temperature for our first soccer game this season was 98 with 100% humidity. we ended the soccer season at 19 degrees with a wind chill of 10. we did our best to huddle together and make human sandwiches to keep warm. we had a great season, but we're glad to have our saturdays and sundays back.
