i don't know if our winter will ever end...our highs have been in the low 30's and there are many days we don't even touch double digits. today, nyc public schools had their first snow day in 5 years, so the girls and i got the day off to play. we got
6" overnight with another 8-10 predicted for tonight. we're supposed to warm up to 40by thursday, so maybe there's hope in sight :).

our visit to the intrepid
what the $#&& were you thinking??
so poor maddy was feeling really sick. she had a horrible case of strep that kept her out of school for 5 days. she was finally feeling better and her father (who loves her with all his heart, but sometimes doesn't think things through) decided to start tossing her around in the parlor. we live in a very old house with very old, heavy iron chandeliers, so...
maddy was a good sport about it, and thank God, there were no stitches necessary, just some tylenol and ice cream. some of you will recall that this is the same daddy who threw the same girl into a moving ceiling fan when she was 1...so why is he still the favorite?
happy valentine's day
for valentine's day, clay and i sent the girls on a hunt for their gifts. they started out with a heart that had a clue to another heart, which lead to another heart with a clue, and so on. they landed in clay's office where they found their goody bags. clay and i usually don't go out on valentine's, but we did go out the friday night before. clay treated me to the russian tea room. we wanted to do something sappy and classic nyc for our first valentine's in the big apple.
